Back from QLD!!!

Hey everyone! I'm finally back from wet/humid/sunny/warm Queensland...and damn its good to be back! You kinda get over the whole place after a while, and some of the locals are quite ignorant...dissing Melbourne and all that...Melbourne is gorgeous and so much better since all my mates are down here! Got my cat back just before...lil darling Jake haha walking around the house meowing the whole time! Well here's my journal entries I did while i was up there, dunno if they are that exciting but it will help me not to repeat everything i did while i was there...i'll just say to people 'check out my blog' coz i'm lazy :P

Got up at 7am, I was planning to wake up at 8am dammit! Had a great night the night before at Dave and Ness's birthday party! Fun as and we drank cool martinis (blue saphire martini drink was harsh as!) I was fine this morning though, sore feet from heels and dancing. Finished packing (no more stress from forgetting something!). Driver arrived in Holden Grange (top of the range Holden) so comfy and roomy! Said goodbye to Rich and off to airport. I love flying! Taking off and landing are the best bits. All 3 of us were a but emotional as we left the ground...this was the holiday that Dad wanted...if only he was here to enjoy it with us, he's here in spirit though, smiling down upon us, hopefully he'll shine some sunshine down :o)

Got picked up at Coolangatta airport by a lady driver. Arrived at Burleigh Beach, and we are on the 6th floor with a gorgeous ocean view! Love hearing and seeing the ocean in the morning and night. We all had a nap coz we were buggered. The hotel has cool security things that work only if you have your room key- cool idea! Went to local shopping area to get food and had fish and chips for dinner. The petrol prices up here are soo cheap at the moment!! Like 95 cents! Cam has found a new friend - Foxtel remote. He's watching it now as I write this in bed. Been drizzling all day. Hopefully tomorrow will be better! Found a shop/cafe called Frangipanni today, it's cool as!

Well its pouring today! Went to the shops today with Mum and left Cam with his Foxtel. Had a latte and wedges with sour cream at this awesome lil cafe called The Bluff, just outside where we're staying, while the rain bucketed down outside! They have a little frangipani painting to sell for $45! Its a grogeous cafe! I want my cafe to look like it, with french doors and booths and chairs, groovy music and warm comfy atmosphere with delicious food and homemade cookies and slices, with surfy/beachy stuff! What do you think Dave? :P I'll make my mint slick! We then skooted off to some more local shops and Mum bought an umbrella and we got some other random stuff we needed. Looked in lingerie store- some nice stuff i tried on! Mum wants to buy 4 pairs of shoes and I want to go to this photography store and look at/buy some surf and frangipani photos- they're gorgeous! My place (whenever I move out) will be full of photos like that! And heaps of beachy things. Looked in some surf stores and got some more coffee and some lunch for Cam. Finally went back to the apartment out of the pouring rain. I love watching the surfers from our balcony, they are out there in the pouring rain, and so are people, randomly walking around and swimming! Crazy! But I guess they are used to this and its not cold here, well not as icey cold as Melbourne. Its warmish but more coldish and a humid 15 degrees with no wind. We went to Montezumas for dinner tonight and Mum and I had Margeritas! Yummo! I think i drank mine a bit too quick though! Checked out the restaurants across the road on the beach- pretty nice! Felt the pool temperature- warm as a bath! No wonder they swim through the day and night. I can't feel my right leg! Aaargh!! Found the gym on the lower floor - Cam's pumped about that! Oh Shit- pins and needles with the slightest movement! Aaaargh!!!! Um watched more MTV and random shit on Foxtel/TV. Played cards with Cam. We're getting the car tomorrow and going to Surfer's Paradise too to check out more shops etc. Weather will be 23 degrees and sunny by the weekend! Woohoo! Tanning time! I miss everyone though! Ness's birthday today! Hope you had a good one!

P.S. Getting the lift back up after lunch today, the doors opened and a lady from Billabong was in there with a rack of the new season's bikinis! They were doing a model shoot in one of the rooms. Heh I got to see the new range before anyone else! :P Saw her again on our way down to dinner. I feel lucky LOL :P

Dave's birthday today! Happy Birthday big Chumperoo!!
Woke up this morning and mum arrived back with hot chocolates and danishes from Brumby's. She had gone to collect the car already! We've got a silver Astra to get around in now. Its cool, and better than walking round in the rain. So we drove up to Surfer's Paradise and went shopping at Pacific Fair. Its like Southland but only 2 levels and all over the place with outside shops- weird! We saw Madagascar at the movies and shopped at City Beach- awesome, huge surf shop- better than Jetty Surf and Cam got a Billabong hoodie from the Billabong store, some fins for bodyboarding and a wallet. I got a pink Roxy heart sticker for my car, a Roxy keyring and 2 necklaces from Sportsgirl. Then we went to Jupiters Casino to pick out the restaurant for friday night before the show Midnight Magic- apparently we have good seats and a discount coz Mum's cousin knows the lady who works there. Driving back we pulled up at some lights and this wanker of a guy in his done up car was reving next to us. Mum's like 'what does he think he's doing?' The lights to turn right had just turned red and in that split second he shot off literally like a pinball up the road. One of the funniest things I've seen! We all sat there laughing till 5 seconds later our light finally turned green.

We then headed off to my Mum's cousin's house. Karen is awesome! She's just like a blonde version of my Mum! Phillip her husband is cool too and they have 2 sons- Daniel who's 21 and Jesse who's turning 18. Karen's mum (my mum's auntie- my nana's sister-in-law) lives with them too and they have a cute Bischon Frise (i think that's how you spell it! :P) doggy called Bojangles who they call Bo. Jesse's friends were talking to me and noticed i went to Uni. I asked them when they finished year 12 and they said last year and I said i finished in 2003. They then thought i was only a year older than them lol i told them i was turning 20 this year and they're like 'whoa shit!'. They all finished year 12 when they were 17 as they have a different system up here which is weird.

It bloody monsoon poured today but we saw more sun and everyone keeps reassuring us that the weather will improve! I bloody hope so! Apparently they haven't had rain like this for 6 months or something like once every one thousand years! But they need the rain. They also don't have P's up here! You get your L's at 16, then get your licence at 16 and 9 months! So I got to drive Mum home tonight which was fun! Never driven an Astra before and its strange when your driving round places and highways you don't know! Going to check out the Billabong factory tomorrow and might go for a swim. I'm sure Cam is keen to try out his new fins in the awesome surf across the road. Also wanna look at getting some of those frangipani photos I saw the other day! Gotta take a pic of that Frangipanni store too! :P Gawd I'm obsessed!

P.S. Did my Uni timetable for next semester- hopefully I get Wednesdays and Fridays off! Yay!!! :D

Woke up kinda late this morning considering i sleep in when i am the first to go to bed at night! We decided to check out the Billabong store up the highway. Their prices were like any other place and so we left. We went back to Pacific Fair and City Beach where I bought a Roxy zip up hoodie and a blue Roxy heart sticker for the other side of my car! Looking forward to giving that car a thorough cleaning and decorating with my surfy stickers! Drove the Astra again today :) Saw Batman Begins tonight. I've seen 2 movies up here that I've already seen. Hopefully when I get back my friends won't have seen War Of The Worlds and we'll see it when Rich gets back.

Its pouring down massive as I write this! Sick of the fucking rain! The locals are embracing it. Its like we brought it up with us. I came up here to get away from the rain and cold! :( At least its warm. Haven't seen the sun for 3 days. No beach action and didn't get time for a swim in the pool today. If weather is good tomorrow we are going to Seaworld. So many skanky chicks up here too in their lil mini skirts and thongs and low cuts- in this weather! Its their last week of school holidays up here too. Need some new jeans- boot cut or those skinny jeans to wear with my boots and some leather boots (i'm thinking black) and maybe some ugh boots too :P going against what i said as i used to hate them, now they look soo cosy! We'll see. Gotta ring Revlon school too to cancel!

OMG today the whole town was flooded! Mum received a knock on the door at like 7am and she had to go move our car out from the basement carpark because it was flooded. She had to wade through knee high deep water! The pool has overflowed and streets were blocked off. The surf was disgusting- all churned up, with seaweed and foam on the beach. Gross day. We decided to go out for lunch so we drove up to Surfer's Paradise where I recognised the place I stayed at with Stew (Beachcomber's Resort) and all the shops. I bought a pink Roxy tee and a Quiksilver sticker at the Quiksilver store and we had a yummy lunch at O'Malley's Irish pub. Drove around a bit more. Saw the new 80 storey building in progress- interesting to see what that will be like when its finished. Came back and I took some photos of the beach with my phone and camera to prove the crappy weather. Clouds have cleared up now- we saw some stars! Had La Porchetta for dinner and I had my first Corona! Yummo!! Heh i'm not a big beer drinker as my friends would know :p Headed back to the apartment and then watched Lost (I really need to see all episodes from beginning...I'm hooked already!) :p The Cam and I went down to the corner shops and got some awesome ice cream! Better than Baskin Robins and Dairy Bell! Cam chose Double Chocolate and Cookies 'n' Cream ice cream, and got those 2 mashed together with Oreos and mini M&M's. I chose the same 2 ice creams but got them mashed with pieces of cookie dough and mint slice. They mash it all together for you on a piece of frozen granite! Its awesome as! And there are 2 stores in Melbourne at Malvern and St Kilda. Its called Cold Rock and you sooo have to go there! Well weather is meant to be sunny and 23 degrees tomorrow so we are getting up early and definitely going to a theme park!

Woke up to gorgeous sunshine this morning! Perfect weather, blue skies and sun! Beach was clean and they started cleaning the pool. We went to Dreamworld today! :D Soo many people there out to enjoy the sun! First ride we went on was the Claw! This ride is soo deceiving...omg! At first it looks and feels like a giant swing. Its scary because you spin as well as feeling like your upside down along with that free fall feeling like the Giant Drop. Mum went on it thinking it would be alright...poor thing was so scared she felt like she was going to pass out. She's so brave for going on it though! Kudos to you Mumsy! Next up was Wipeout for me and Cam. Mum took some photos of us hehe! Love that ride, i laugh the whole time and it spins upside down and stuff, and they had the water underneath it and the shark too this time!

After that we went to Tiger Island and I took way too many photos! I love the tigers, especially the white ones. They're soo cute!! Had some lunch with great entertainment of watching Kato and Sita mating...hmm! Its funny coz she tries to attack him as soon as its over in 10 seconds, but she's got a lead on and he bolts away! They roar heaps too. After the tigers, Cam and I did the long wait for Tower Of Terror. This is my most favouritest one!! :D Had this group of young bimbos (one with a real Louie Vuitton bag Ness like yours :p) in front of us that seemed really bitchy to certain members of their posse. We got to go ahead of them in the end lol! The best bit about the ride is the take off bit and then going backwards!

Next up was the Reptar Rollercoaster which is like a mini version of the Lethal Weapon. Mum got kinda scared on this one. After this we did a huge line up for the Rapids where is started pouring- luckily we were undercover! Tooks us a bloody hour and 20 minutes, but the sun was shining by then :) This ride is cool and mum and cam got soaked hehe! Then back to Tiger Island and up close with a Cougar called Inca- so fluffy! It did these massive leaps centimetres in front of us! Bought Cam a cute white tiger toy and one for myself- to add to my collection :P Have lots of photos! Got a photo of Cam at the jail to compare to the exact same one from when he was6! :p

After all that we rushed back to Burleigh to get changed and dressed up, to go to Jupiter's Casino for dinner and to see Midnight Magic at their theatre. The show was awesome! Lots of dancing and great performances with Bubbles, fire, tigers and 4 dirt bikes in the Dome- OMG that looked scary and amazing! I've only ever seen 2 in there at once! Crazy stuff! We also got a photo with the White Tiger! I'm buggered now...need to rest up for another big day tomorrow at Movie World and I need to swim! Dammit Dave, I said I'd swim everyday, looks like I need to catch up!

Movie World was awesome! (I use that word wayyy too much! :P) We got there early and went on the Batman Ride 2 first. Similar to the I remember. This guy who counts how many people go on had to be the butler and put on an American accent. It was quite funny coz he was making comments like he was soo over what he was doing- imagine doing that all day, saying the script lines repeatedly to people going on the rides. It'd get quite tedious and boring after a while, but a fun job all the same. After that we got some food and checked out the shops like the Harry Potter store, Willy Wonka store- (I got a tweety drink bottle with lollies), Loony Tunes Character store- (I got a Tweety, Cam got a Daffy Duck pen and Taz Devil eraser, and Mum got a Movie World keyring and said she wanted to start a keyring collection- i hope she was joking lol :p) I also got a Movie World enviro bag- trendier than those green Coles ones :P

Then we watched the Matrix Action Show which was pretty cool performed in the main street. Got some photo of that. Off to the Scooby-Doo Spooky Coaster which is awesome too! Goes backwards and up high, all inside in the dark lol Mum got a lil scared on this one. Cam and I checked out the Matrix Exhibit. Got some photos of that. Went on the Wild West Falls Adventure Ride- also awesome! haha Huge splashdown and goes backwards at the start too! Saw the Police Academy Stunt Show which is funny as and great entertaiment. Went on the Lethal Weapon which was cool except for the fact my ears got bashed to death coz my head got knocked from side to side :-S ...Still awesome!!!

Um then we saw the Marvin the Martian Movie in the 3rd Dimension at the Roxy theatre which when viewing in 3D, they squirt water on you- literally! The 3 of us then went on the lil Road Runner Roller Coaster which is tiny and nothing compared to the stuff Cam and I go on! :P After all the rides we saw the Austin Powers show in the street and the All Star Parade, and got photos with Batman and then with Wonder Woman and other DC heroes. Went on Scooby-Doo ride again before getting an ice cream and heading off after getting more photos in front of the Movie World archway. Very tired! Had a spa and swam in the pool back at Burleigh. I think I'll sleep like a log tonight! Seaworld tomorrow! 3 months for Rich and I today! He's off to the snow for a week!

P.S. Watched Live8 on Foxtel and sent our names in! :)

Slept in for a bit longer today! We actually found the Billabong and Quiksilver outlets and OMG do they have good stuff at cheap prices! 2 pairs of pants for $25, shirts and tops for $20, skirts for $25 and jackets and hoodies for $40! It was crazy! I got the skirt i always wanted from Billabong, a mint green Element t-shirt, a Billabong t-shirt and of course a Billabong sticker! Cam got 3 Billabong t-shirts, a wetsuit, a Quiksilver cap and an Element hoodie. Mum got a Billabong top and jacket. Shopping spree! We then tried to make our way to Seaworld :P We kinda got lost and the Marathon was on so that didn't help. Finally got there and had some lunch while watching this guy practice his ski jumps. We got the chair lift across to the main bit and headed for the Polar Bears. They're soo cute and their enclosure in really cool! Nelson and Hudson were the twin orphan boys that were rescued. Here's a random fact- Polar Bears skin is black and their fur in clear with the light reflecting on them making them look white :)

Checked out Shark Bay which is pretty cool- big sharks and lots of little colourful fish, a random turtle thrown in and some stingrays and starfish. Kinda relaxing just watching fish swim by- like watching a giant fish bowl. The we watched another 3D movie- Plant SOS in 4D ( i think its called 4D because its interactive like the other one) we also got squirted with water, the grounf shook, smoke in our faces, wind and things draped down past our heads. LoL tres cool! Bermuda Triangle was next where we got a bit wet. I was freezing at this point as it was a windy day- trying to stay in the sunshine as much as possible!

Then we watched the Dolphin Show which was awesome (oh man i need a new word!) They're so clever and magnificent, smart creatures. Having the job of a trainer with them would be cool as! After that Cam and I made our way to the Corkscrew Roller Coaster which we went on twice and the 2nd time this chick screamed in our ears! It was soo not scary- more fun than anything especially going upside and the twisty bit! After the 2nd time we went on the Pirate Ship- thankfully it DID NOT go upside down! :) Pretty tired and cold at this point. Cam wanted to see the Polar Bears again so we saw Lutik who was posing on the rock. His twin sister is Liya. Took photos of him and the dolphins and seals. I was going to record them croaking (coz I make that sound to Dave lol) but they went to sleep. Bought a cute and cuddly polar bear cub toy and so did cam and a Seaworld enviro bag (to go with my Movie World one! :P) Glad to get in the warm car and eat the donuts Mum bought! Went out to dinner to the Bluff Cafe and then had Cold Rock ice cream for dessert! Cam had the same as last time and I had white chocolate and stawberry ice cream mashed with flake and cookie dough. Damn its good! Tomorrow we're off to Wet'N'Wild and possibly go to Movie World again depending. Gotta go my Centrelink and go back to Billabong coz Mum wants to buy me a wetsuit. Oh my mission which I chose to accept is to get a photo with Daffy Duck for Bram! And seeing Africa 3D Safari at Imax too! Can't wait to get back!

Today was lazy ass day! No Wet'N'Wild coz weather wasn't good condition for it. Instead we went back to the Billabong factory and Mum bought me a wetsuit! Yay! 3/4 one at bargain price of $75! Then we came back to Burliegh after getting Maccas for lunch-mmm healthy- and Mum and I bought a pair of shoes each. I got these really cute, flat metallic pink ones, so now my feet won't get sore guys! :p (Illy I finally got some flat shoes!! :P) And I also went to the Internet Cafe and did my Centrelink and checked hotmail- 39 emails! Deleted crap ones and will check the rest when i get back. Then we finally went to the beach for the first time since we've been up here! Cam and I wore out new wetsuits and damn they keep you nice and warm even though you get used to the water pretty quickly. Caught a few waves, but you were waiting a while for a decent set. Good stuff though! Watched Desperate Housewives tonight- love that show- am still yet to watch all of the first season of Lost- Dave catch me up on that one! Tomoz is definitely Wet'N'Wild and Movie World. Its good now coz all the QLD kids are back at school! So now its
just the Uni students and tourists around :)

Today slept in again. I've been sleeping so well up here considering i'm sharing a room with my brother who snores, whom i haven't heard snore coz i keep him up with my talking in my sleep and whistling through my nose lol i'm already asleep before he goes to bed :P Anyways we went to Wet'N'Wild and Cam and I went on a couple of water slides...the best being the Mammoth Falls, where you sit in a massive raft/round tube thing with up to 6 people and go down what is like a rapids water slide- its sick! The worst being the Flumes, where you wait for ages to go down a 10 second slide- fun but yeah over it. Wave pool was pretty cool..better than the one at Waves in Chelt :) Then we skooted our way next door to Movie World. I tried my hardest to get photos with Daffy but failed, instead got pictures of loony tunes doing aerobics :P Went on only one ride today- the Scooby-Doo coaster..love it! Mum got a photo with the Ab-Fab chicks. Showed mum the Matrix Exhibit thingy and got photos with Daffy and Sylvester together and saw the Police Academy Stunt Show again coz Cam wanted to see it which made me miss out on seeing Tweety :( ahh wells!

Went across the road to a lovely restaurant called Seafire. Table by the window and the waiter was soo cool! He made mum and i his own cocktail, which had tequila, strawberries, frangelico and some other stuff...tasted delish! Like strawberries and cream! :) Had a yummy dinner and dessert we had 4 lil sized desserts to share with mum (coz cam went back to the room to watch Foxtel no doubt!) which consisted of chocolate brownie, home-made chocolate ice cream which tasted soo chocolatey like ovaltines! some yoghurt stuff and strawberry tart. Ice cream was the bomb! Had a chat to him before we left, he's a surfer from New Zealand and he called me and cam 'eggs on toast' coz we are body boarders lol! He said i should get a surfboard and learn to surf. Went back to the room to pack up everything..looking forward to heading home!

Had to get up early again coz we had to check out, and take the car back to Surfer's Paradise. Walked to where all the shops are in Caville Avenue and went to the Quiksilver store (lol Cam and I are obsessed with surf stuff! :P) Haha cam said to me "They should make a book on you called 'Where's KJ? At the Quiksilver Store!" He got some thongs there and we had an iced chocolate at Starbucks and watched some people sitting in this massive chair taking photos. Ummers...then we caught a bus to Pacific Fair and back to Burleigh where we had some lunch at The Bluff cafe and got the driver to take us back to Coolangatta airport. Finally getting closer to coming home! Bought a Cosmo mag and got stuck into it. Finally got on the plane and enjoyed the flight! Same driver who dropped us at Melbourne airport was waiting for us again and I was soo tired by now! But thankful to be home. Unpacked and relaxed!!! :)
