Baby On Board
Ok this might be a shit post but in my sleepy state this morning I felt compelled to write it. As I was driving to work at 8:30, I stopped behind a little car that was displaying a Baby On Board sign:

So as I was anxiously calmly waiting for the lights to change I focused on this sign. I see them everywhere, everyday and I'm sure you do to. But what does your mind think when you read it? Sure there's the obvious that there's a baby on board (or is there really?) Does it affect your driving habits, like slowing down or being more cautious of so called person with the sign. What exactly is the point of it? "Hey everyone! See this sign? See this sign here? Right here? Yeah, I gots a baby in my car, so, um, uh, um....yeah"
There's the copy-cat versions of these signs like Babe On Board, Mum's Taxi, Honk If Your Horny, Blonde On Board, even personalised Dog On Board ones. So these ones are more funnier than the Baby one, which seems to have no point if it's meant to make us more cautious, as Jeremy who wrote an article in below link quotes:
"If I have to drive with care, it would stand to reason that these people – the ones with the “Baby on Board” – should exercise caution when driving too. Instead, they seem to be the roadway renegade that can fly down the street and swerve in front of others without paying attention to their precious cargo “on board.”
http://www.canadiancontent.net/commtr/article_813.html
Another point to make is the fine print on the sign. It says 'Safety 1st puts children 1st.' How is it putting children 1st when this sign is potentially dangerous? Can you imagine this sign falling down on top of your baby and they start chewing it or is pokes it in the eye, or cuts it if the car happens to stop suddenly? Or maybe the suction fails and it goes flying. Doesn't seem safe now does it, specially when its a pointless sign! About half the people who have them don't even have a kid in the car at the time and are driving around recklessly.
Just because they have that sign in the back of their car doesn't really give them the right to drive like a snail, when everyone is rushing to get to work. Specially if they aren't paying attention to road rules or don't know how to change lanes while driving in front of me, stopping about 50 times, while not using their mirrors, while a truck is right there, in peak hour traffic.
I say get rid of the stupid signs, they're probably blocking your view anyway. They're annoying and distracting to other drivers, and hey, we're not going to change our driving habits, specially when we're trying to get to work and you probably don't even have a baby in the back seat!

Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
Wear Sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering experience…
I will dispense this advice, now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth;
oh nevermind; you will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself, and recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….
You are not as fat as you imagine.
Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum.
The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind;
the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing everyday that scares you
Sing
Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss
Don’t waste your time on jealousy;
sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes you’re behind; the race is long,
and in the end, it’s only with yourself.
Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults;
if you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch
Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your life…
the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives,
some of the most interesting 40 year olds I know still don’t.
Get plenty of calcium.
Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll have children, maybe you won’t,
maybe you’ll divorce at 40,
maybe you’ll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…
what ever you do, don’t congratulate yourself too much
or berate yourself either – your choices are half chance,
so are everybody else’s.
Enjoy your body, use it every way you can,
don’t be afraid of it, or what other people think of it,
it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever own..
Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room.
Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them.
Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for good.
Be nice to your siblings, their your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but with the precious few you should hold on.
Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle because the older you get,
the more you need the people you knew when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard;
live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft.
Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will philander,
you too will get old and when you do you’ll fantasize that when you were young
prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don’t expect anyone else to support you.
Maybe you have a trust fund, maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse;
but you never know when either one might run out.
Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you're 40, it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who supply it.
Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal,
wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it’s worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen…
What do you think?
I'm having second thoughts about getting a tattoo this week. Not because I'm scared or anything just I was told that if I got a tattoo and then lost weight it could skew the picture. Coz my aim is to lose some weight before my 21st which is in October, and if I was to get a lower back tattoo it could look different by then :-S So whoever reads this blog I'd like your opinion, on whether I should I shouldn't get a tattoo this week or to wait until after my birthday. Much appreciated! :)

New stuff
I'm getting a tattoo this week! Bram and I have decided to get tattoos together :) I'm getting a lower back one that is gorgeous but I might have a quick look in the shop in case there is something better. I've found a few places but need to find out which one is the cheapest and best. It'll be the first of only a couple :p I'm no tattoo freak!
Went to Adam's last week again by myself, and Steve, Jim and Adam were there, then Bram came later on and so did Andy. I took along my SEGA Mastersystem II haha how old skool is that! Jim went nuts over it! It was so funny. He's like "Do you have Alex Kid?" "Yes" "OMG!!" And then he started talking about the game which reminded me of the game and we felt like such nerds! Haha then Steve piped up saying he never got to play Alex Kid coz his cousin wouldn't let him coz he was too young. So Steve finally got to play! :) Cept coz its so old, its insides are a bit loose and it was fuzzy on tv but we made it work! When Bram and Andy came they got excited over Marble Madness and Double Dragon haha. You gotta love those old games, brings back memories.
I had to work long hours yesterday, from 10-5 ergh! But I had Pese to keep me sane haha We even made our lunch hour the same time so we could have lunch together and bum. It ended up being a pretty easy shift. I usually watch whatever movie is on in Home Ent. The latest being Narnia. You have to guess what's going on though coz I can't hear what they're saying :P I got asked AGAIN if I work at Big W! The woman even checks out what I'm wearing. God there are some dumb ass people in the world.
I've made a decision to go work in the U.K. when I finish my teaching course :) I'll be 25 by then lol it seems so old! But my cousin used to live over there and the apartments are fully furnished so that's a bonus! I've always wanted to live sort of countryside so we'll see how that goes. Don't know how I'll fend with the weather though, I hate the cold! But it'd be cool to have snow on your doorstep :) I'll be able to visit Rich in Ireland and wherever too hehe! I can't wait, it's going to be soo good, specially if I come back with an accent haha and your money doubles when you come back here too! :)
I'm thinking of having a personal trainer again even though I just got a new program written for me. Luke said I should keep training with him and I asked for a discount if I do coz I know Pook, so he said he could do it for $25 a session :p haha So yeah I'll give my program a go first and then prob have 1 or 2 sessions a week, coz boxing was fun! Its such a good cardio work out instead of running, coz it makes you use your upper body and abs, and if you add in kicking it gets your legs working too. He makes me do sprints and squats so its a full body cardio workout! He sounds like he pushes his clients much harder than the other trainers. He's a champ! :)
Anyways gotta go. I should really finish the Wolverine painting for Rich and catch up on some reading. Peace

So yeah...What?
I've been up to a bit lately this past week. Had netball a couple of weeks ago, playing the freakin top team so we got our asses kicked! But this Tuesday just passed we are in a new merged league of leagues 3 and 4 so its awesome! We were really looking forward to playing, coz we were playing the bottom team of the old league 3, except they didn't fucking show up! Those bastards! So an instant win to us hehe I didn't get to play though (more on that later...) We're gonna be in the finals too haha thanks to those free 6 wins we got! LOL suckers
I lost my gym program! I went to the gym last week and was doing my usual cycling routine and got out my program and left it on the program stand. I went to the leg press and came back to fill out my program and it was gone! Searched for it everywhere! In the end I asked Luke if he could help me. I concluded that someone had taken it or placed it back in the wrong spot somewhere. But because I entered the draw to win a $500 PT package, I got a free 1/2 session so I found out I was doing that with Luke. So that was pretty cool! He's pretty funny and knows Pook and all about the Woopachang clan LOL! He just had his 21st birthday and has an accent sorta I think Pook said it was English though sounds Canadian. Had my first session last friday, it was soo much fun! We went upstairs to the massive room and did boxing, lunges, sprints and high kicks. I was soo wrecked by the end and sooo sore the next day I could hardly walk! I then signed up for 3 PT sessions for $50 which is a massive saving! Had my first session on monday and this time we did upper body, like weights and stuff. Man my arms felt like jelly haha Boy was I fucking sore the next day! I asked to have the session on monday instead of tuesday so i wouldn't be sore or tired for netball, but having it on monday I was still sore on tuesday! I could barely lift my arms above my head so there was little chance I would be able to catch the ball. So yeah probably a good idea I didn't play anyway and our opposition didn't even show up. Had my second session last night. It was awesome this time coz we went upstairs again and I asked if we could play some music so he got his Reanimation Linkin Park cd! Hehe Bram you woulda loved it, specially if you were playing squash you could've heard it! So I was boxing to that and running and doing lunges again. So today I don't feel that sore and I ran faster last night too so its going great! Got one more session left next monday and then I get a new program written by him which will be much better than my old one!
Went to Adam's last monday night which was great fun! Got to catch up with Steve, Adam and Stu. Those boys are hilarious! We drank and watched Song for the Socceroos final, Stripperella, then played SNES cricket and mortal combat and mario kart 64. Had Anna's 21st party last friday night too. That was a fantastic night hehe! Bram was my date :p got Rich to drop us off and first person we see is Jimmy with his bike. He rode all the way to Doyles! He then had nowhere to put his bike so he tried to attach it to a tree but forgot his bike lock code. He then decided to hide it in some bushes! lol it was soo funny for Bram and I to watch! Got inside and Adam was drunk haha from being at Taco Bill's for Nat's birthday earlier that night. Was chatting to Adam and Steve and Jimmy and Bram and a few of the girls. Drank heaps of champagne lol the bartender was really nice! Kinda cute too haha Then Andy rocked up and I was chatting to him. Then Stu and Stew rocked up from the footy. I organised to by a shot for Andy and one for Bram but never got round to it coz I was content with my champagne and champagne sunrises :p and before I knew it, the bar was closed lol The speeches went on for ages! The decorations were cool! And I said soo much shit lol my god haha but fun night! Lots of hugs and fun! We have Mich's on sat which will be fun to dress up for and I have Bram as my date again lol Can't be bothered going out with Stu and Andy that night coz the venue is close to my house and there's free alcohol so we'll go out another night ok guys! Getting a tan tomorrow morning! I love my tans haha specially when its awesome and only $18!! What a bargain! Seeing X-Men 3 tomorrow too with Rich, should be fun :) And then seeing Pirates of the Carribean Gold Class Jam Factory in July with a few friends! I hate the cold and its not even Winter yet! Fark! But its good to rug up and snuggle! :) Can't wait for spring or summer though! Got my cousin's wedding in Sep. Ok enough from me, got work in an hour, I wonder how much stupid shit will happen, gotta love those dumb ass customers. Getting new registers soon lol the touch screen ones oooo :p

My Weekend
My weekends are enjoyable to say the least. I look forward to them from the very moment Sunday ends. My weekends kinda start on a Thursday morning till midday on a Sunday excluding the 3 hours of work I have on a Thursday night because its just easy and laid back. Anyways Rich and I were sposed to go lawn bowling for Amy's birthday but we couldn't be stuffed, so Rich said he had homework and I had to take Tommy to the vet. In the end I took Rich to the movies to see Scary Movie 4 :p
Saturday was pretty laid back. Made pancakes for Rich and myself which are yummy as! Lazed about and played Mario Kart then skooted off to Southland with Cam to get our Mother's Day presents. We got Mum a magazine that she wanted and series 4 of Absolutely Fabulous on DVD. We were going to get her a bonsai tree but I think I'll go to a garden place for a proper one later on. Then I was taxi for the night and took Cam, Rob, Rory and Hayley to Luke's party in Cheltenham. I then went to Rich's to see how he was feeling coz he caught a bug or something and had some of Jenn's dessert that she made :) Then I went home coz I was buggered and fell asleep. Not long after I received a phone call from Cam at 2am asking to be picked up. I had messaged him saying I had gone to bed and to make his own way home. He then rings back and asks me to leave out his house keys coz he has forgotten his. Bloody hell! So apparently he got a taxi home with Rory at 4am.
This morning was good, cept I hate getting out of bed, specially when I know I have work later. Made Mum breakfast in bed and gave her her gifts including an imported Orchid, that Rob gave me from his neighbour who is a florist, for driving them to the party. Then I trundled off to worksies.
Customers...my god I hate most of them. Half of them have no clue even what store they are in let alone which department. The question most asked is where something is either in cosmetics or elsewhere. Mostly it is right next to them, in front of their face or behind them. Other times it's on the last shelf facing shoes. That's when they get lost and come running back to me asking again where the freakin moisturises are. I fucking told you already on the last shelf! Did you look all around? No, you didn't did you! You were too lazy to look on the other side and instead want me to drop what I'm doing and walk all the way over there to point out exactly where the bloody item is. Lazy arses.
Second most asked question is if I work for Big W. Um are you blind? Actually I just love wearing my blue shirt and black slacks with my name on a tag and a bunch of keys around my neck on my weekends, its a new fashion trend.
I had this customer today ask me where hot water bottles were. "Excuse me do you know where the hot water bottles are?". "Uh they should be located over there on those shelves in Health and Beauty otherwise try over near Hardware where the towels are." "No, I just came from over there and they said they were located here." "Um, this is cosmetics, I've never seen a hot water bottle here, they are over near Hardware." "But they said they were over here." "Well they're not sorry, they should be near Hardware and Homewares." Customer looks annoyed and looks at me weird then walks off. That's right bitch fuck off and go have a look! I think I know what I'm talking about when I say hot water bottles aren't in cosmetics when I've worked here for 2 years so take my advice and go to Hardware where you'll fucking find your hot water bottles! Gosh!
Another customer thought I was their personal service person. Mother who couldn't speak english and daughter who could. Mother wanted to know the price of something so I checked it for them and went back to what I was doing. Daughter is back again with another item for checking. I do it again. Dunno why they can't look at the price ticket from where they got it. Mother and daughter back again with father wanting some perfume. We don't have it now would you fuck off already!
A male customer was asking me about one of the cheap perfumes Tabu. We have so much of this crap, it smells awful, I don't know why people like it. He then wanted to spray it on me! Ewww! Horrified I told him "No thanks I don't want that stuff on me!" And then he said "Ohh why not? You don't like the cheap perfumes eh?" "Nope that stuff stinks and is too old for me." Gross gross gross! So he sprayed it on himself! Hahahaha god go away!
So yeah I guess the main reason i wrote this post was to vent out my thoughts of how work was today. Thanks for reading :p

Just gotta start working out details and get organised etc! I'm so excited! :o) Now I just gotta work my butt off at work and save since I gotta pay for most of it :p
